SUSTAINABILTY

Forever in tIME with the ebb and flo of the lake level

At Camp Carnelley's, we take sustainable living seriously. Our eco-friendly commitment is a cornerstone of our ethos and influnces the decisions we make every day. We use locally sourced materials, such as red mud from the Rift Valley escarpment or fallen trees and branches from around the camp to build our structures. Our use of natural materials also helps to reduce waste and minimize our impact on the environment. We are proud of our commitment to ecological practices and believe they are essential in ensuring our camp and surrounding areas remain a beautiful and natural place for generations to come.

Committed to sustainability and conservation

We rely mainly on solar power to heat the water in rooms as we transition to full solar for a large portion of our electrical needs. Adding to our sustainability is our dedication to conservation. There is a continuous drive to protect the many species of flora and fauna found within the Campgrounds with emphasis on tree planting and re-wilding. We also work closely with many agencies and associations to conserve Lake Naivasha’s ecosystems and heritage. Working together with our community environmental group (KMEG) who provide employment to people with disabilities with concern to re-cycling waste, sensitization on pollution and pioneering for our village to re-cycle and be sustainable.
